Simon Bailes continues its support of talented Romanby Golf Juniors

Simon Bailes Peugeot has reaffirmed its commitment to budding golfers in North Yorkshire with its continued sponsorship of Romanby Golf & Country Club.
The North East and North Yorkshire group of car dealerships has sponsored the golf club for the last 17 years, which is Simon Bailes’ longest-running community commitment.
As part of its sponsorship, Simon Bailes has supported the club’s Junior teams, with several of this year’s players enjoying excellent form and continued success. This year’s support has allowed 12 junior golfers to benefit from coaching and lessons with a Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) professional, as well as brand-new uniforms for team matches and associated travel costs.
Melodie Goodall, 14, has excelled in the last year and secured a place in the national England golf trials and was the first person to have won the club’s player of the season award, outside of the men’s category. She has a handicap of 12 and over the last three years, has secured more than 30 wins, including the 2018 Junior Championships.
Will Edson, the junior team’s captain, has continued his success from 2018 after achieving a hole in one during a Yorkshire Inter District Unions (YIDU) fixture in May.
Simon Bailes’ sponsorship comes at an exciting time for Romanby Golf & Country Club, which recently announced that it will deliver an extensive upgrade of its academy’s facilities, including a brand-new Performance Studio, following Performance Managed Golf’s association with the coaching services at Romanby Golf Academy.
Ray Clemmit, captain of Romanby Golf Club, said: “Our continued thanks go to Simon Bailes for his ongoing support of the Junior Section at Romanby Golf Club. These are exciting times for the Juniors as we launch our new Performance Academy with its focus on future talent.
“We’re delighted that a combination of Simon Bailes, the new Performance Managed Golf Academy and Romanby Golf Club have collaborated to ensure an ongoing pipeline of young, talented golfers. We have a rich tradition of producing great young golfers and the support from Simon Bailes means this can continue.”
Simon Bailes, CEO of Simon Bailes Peugeot, added: “Romanby Golf & Country Club has a long history of supporting and developing talented youngsters and we are proud to continue our sponsorship of the club, including its successful junior programme. It is an exciting period for everyone associated with the club as it gears up for further enhancements to its extensive coaching services and I’d like to wish the players and coaching staff all the very best for the season.”
