Simon Bailes Peugeot has once again supported a charity working with children affected by the Chernobyl disaster 30 years ago.
The company has worked alongside the charity Friends of Chernobyl Children for more than 10 years, to help enhance the lives of those affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
This year, 10 children, 6 girls and 4 boys, visited Northallerton, enjoyed a variety of local attractions and received important health check-ups.
The children visited seaside town Saltburn on a double decker bus, living museum Beamish and cycled around Northallerton.
As in past years, the Northallerton dealership of Simon Bailes Peugeot has bought each child a pair of high quality trainers, measured to fit them perfectly. Many of them return wearing them the following year when they are often then too small.
The project hopes to expand next year with increased funding in order to bring more children to Northallerton.
Simon Bailes, Managing Director of Simon Bailes Peugeot, said: “Every year we get involved with organising the children’s trip to Northallerton and each year it gets even more enjoyable. The children have a fantastic time coming here and experiencing different things, it really enriches their lives and improves their health.
“The children are so grateful and don’t take anything for granted. To see them so overjoyed by their new trainers is rewarding for all of the team who put in a lot of hard work to make their trip special. The children continue to inspire myself and many people across the Northallerton community with their positivity and amazing outlook on life.”
