CAR OF THE YEAR FINALIST: THE NEW PEUGEOT E-3008

The COTY is decided by a panel of 59 members, who represent 22 countries across Europe. There job is to select a shortlist of 28 models, before cutting the list down further to 7, and then finally picking a winner. This prestigious award began in 1964 and utilises senior motoring journalists from across Europe to select the best new car that went on sale in those 12 months before the award is given. 

Peugeot have an illustrious history with the award, with the brand having a finalist seven times since 2013. This includes 3 winners, with the previous generation 308 winning in 2014, the first of the current generation 3008 winning in 2017, and the 208 winning in 2020. 

The New Peugeot E-3008 will look to continue this illustrious heritage of driving excellence. The new electric fastback SUV is the first vehicle to use Stellantis’ new EV focused platform; STLA-Medium. The creation of this platform kept the needs of the customer at its core and built itself up around this idea. The result of this research was three different sized platforms that will underpin Stellantis and Peugeot for their electric future with class leading performance. On the E-3008, which uses the mid-sized platform, delivering a range of up to 435 miles (WLTP), a rapid recharge time capable of giving 62 miles in 10 minutes, and immense driving pleasure and performance through its services including a trip planner and smart charging. 

 
The innovative Peugeot i-cockpit has seen a significant rework in the new E-3008, now possessing a vast 21” curved HD screen that has been cleverly designed to provide a floating effect to the driver and passengers. This brilliant design has not only helped the E-3008 to the COTY final, it has also won an award in itself, winning the ‘Connected Car Award’ in the ‘Entertainment’ category from German Magazine AUTO BILD.
