PEUGEOT ANNOUNCE THE NEW E-TRAVELLER
Added: 22 November 2023
Boasting 0 emissions, 2 battery types and up to 350km range, the new Peugeot E-Traveller is the ideal transport for professional customers who are looking for a capable vehicle.
This versatile vehicle comes in two lengths; Standard (4.98m) and Long (5.33m) and can hold from 5 to 9 passengers in a number of configurations, including a VIP trim that features a lounge setup, with 4 independent seats facing each other. This is possible while possessing up to 4,900 liters, uncompromised by the battery. All these options make the E-Traveller an adaptable and practical option, perfect for hotels, charities, shuttles, taxi’s, etc.
The most striking change comes at the front end, where Peugeot have completely reworked the design, helping it fit more in line with the current Peugeot range. A new grille design featuring the new emblem, as well as the new full LED headlamps featuring the iconic Peugeot 3-claw signature. The bumper has also been optimised for both protection and aerodynamics.
The interior also receives a major update, and now possesses new 10” 100% digital instrument cluster as standard on the E-Traveller. This cluster provides a customisable display in a much more easily viewed location, just above the compact steering wheel. The central touchscreen also receives an upgrade, coming as standard in 10” and HD. The touchscreen provides access to the audio system, connected navigation, as well as the OK Peugeot voice assistant. The E-Traveller also comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A wireless smartphone charger can now be located on the center console, helping keep the clean aesthetic of the i-cockpit. There are also two USB-C sockets on the dashboard, two more in the second-row seats, and two 12V sockets.
A full range of driving aids are also featured on the E-Traveller, making the experience as safe, comfortable, and easy as possible. These assists include driver fatigue warning, traffic sign recognition, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, speed limiter, and more.
One of the biggest updates from the previous generation comes in the battery and range of the E-Traveller, now able to reach almost 220 miles on a single charge.
The E-Traveller comes with a choice of two batteries; a 50kWh battery that offers 140 miles of range, and a larger 75kWh battery pushing the range out to 217miles (Both these calculations are still currently undergoing approval and certification). A new regenerative braking system has been implemented, which can be activated at three different levels of strength using paddles behind the steering wheel. This feature further helps improve the efficiency and range of the vehicle, by harvesting the energy created from braking and moving it back into the battery. Estimated charging times for the Peugeot E-Traveller are as follows:
-
From a 100 kW public charging point: 38 minutes for the 50 kWh battery, 45 minutes for the 75 kWh battery (recharge from 5 to 80%).
-
From an 11 kW wallbox: full recharge with the 11 kW on-board charger in 4 hours 50 minutes for the 50 kWh battery, 7 hours 30 minutes for the 75 kWh battery.
-
From a 7.4 kW wallbox: full charge with the 7.4 kW on-board charger in 6 hours 43 minutes for the 50 kWh battery, 11 hours 20 minutes for the 75 kWh battery.
