Simon Bailes Peugeot commits to ‘earn and learn’ by joining The 5% Club

Simon Bailes Peugeot, comprising of three franchised showrooms dealing with new and used cars, plus the offering of Servicing and MOTs in the North East - Northallerton, Stockton and Guisborough along with a state of the art Accident Repair Centre in Northallerton. Simon Bailes has showcased its commitment to developing its people by joining The 5% Club, an industry led initiative focussed on driving momentum into the recruitment of apprentices, graduates and sponsored students.

The 5% Club is a movement of more than 950 employers providing ‘earn and learn’ opportunities to develop the skills and talents people need to become more employable and create meaningful careers. Companies joining The 5% Club commit to raising the number of apprentices, sponsored students and graduates on formal programmes to 5% of their total workforce within five years. Members are also asked to publicly report their progress in their Annual Report. Existing members range from SMEs to FTSEs and cover all sectors including engineering, transport, and financial services.

The Club was founded in 2013, and uses its platform and record of success to engage with policymakers and influenestment with discernible social impact.

Simon Bailes Peugeot have a longstanding commitment of developing the skills and experiences of individuals across all facets of the business. We provide apprenticeships from sales, service, accounts, and more. A significant portion of our workforce is made up of either current or past apprentices. When we learned about The 5% Club, we felt that our values perfectly aligned with theirs, so joining was a simple decision to make.

Simon Bailes Peugeot currently have seven employees currently studying for apprenticeships within the group, from Accounts Assistants completing their AAT Level 3 to Vehicle Technicians. Joe at Simon Bailes Stockton recently completed his Level 2 in Customer Service, successfully finishing with an outstanding distinction.
