MEET THE NEW PEUGEOT E-RIFTER
Added: 10 November 2023
Peugeot’s multipurpose leisure vehicle, the Peugeot Rifter, will receive an update in 2024, featuring a facelifted front end, new technologies in line with the Peugeot standard, and an increased electric range.
Peugeot are leading the way in the electric market with the broadest electric range of any European car manufacturer, boasting 9 passenger cars and 3 LCV’s.
This move to electric is not without reason, as the Peugeot E-Rifter improves upon its range and efficiency, now able to reach 199 miles on a single charge, while utilizing the extra space that can be afforded with an electric drivetrain to make this multipurpose leisure vehicle even more practical than before.
The first change you notice comes with the front end. The Peugeot E-Rifter comes with a new front grille, featuring the new Peugeot badge. The brands three-claw light signature also features in a unique and more subtle way than other vehicles in the range.
The colours of the E-Rifter have also been updated, available in the new Sirkka green and Kiama Blue. These colours help highlight the shapre and muscular design of the vehicle, with its wide wheel arches, high ground clearance and imposing side guards.
The latest version of the Peugeot i-cockpit has also been implemented into the Peugeot E-Rifter, with a 10” HD central touchscreen, as well as a 10” 100% digital instrument cluster above the heated compact steering wheel. The i-cockpit is optimised for driver pleasure and enjoyment.
The driver experience is further improved through the wide range of drive aids and assists that can be found in this new model. This includes driver tiredness warning, traffic sign reading, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, speed limiter, adaptive cruise control and more. The Peugeot E-Rifter has 18 separate driving assist systems, all of which have been been either improved from the previous model, or completely new with this update. An improved parking assistance system has also been implemented to the E-Rifter, with 12 sensors around the vehicle, as well as a 180° rear camera.
Adaptability is a huge part of the Peugeot E-Rifter’s identity, and it is available in two versions, with a 5 and 7 seat option in each. You can enjoy the E-Rifter in Standard (4.4m) and Long (4.7m). In the middle row, each of the seats can be individually folded into the floor, maximising rear space. The sliding doors remain, making loading and unloading a simple process, as well as limiting the footprint of the vehicle. The large rear tailgate also has an opening window, that is unique in the segment. The E-Rifter’s batteries are located under the floor, and this means that the interior space of the vehicle is not impacted, with a load area between 775 and 4,000 litres depending on the version and configuration. On top of this, there is also up to 186 litres of storage in the cabin.
Peugeot strive to make the driving experience as engaging and pleasurable as possible. This philosophy can be found in the new E-Rifter, heightened by the electric drivetrain. The Peugeot E-Rifter offers three driving modes, eco, normal, and power. This is coupled with the new regenerative braking system, also available in three different levels, chosen via the paddles behind the steering wheel. Efficiency is a key focus for Peugeot, as they look to maximise the range as much as possible. A unique feature that helps with this is a heat pump, which not only increases effificency, but also improves passenger comfort.
Estimated charge times are:
At a 100kW public charging point: 30 minutes (0-80% charge).
